I have now developed all my parts to a level of “Unsure 5/10” which is a dramatic improvement on what It was at the start of the season. I have been developing the parts based on old parts, would it be better to keep developing my current parts or create new parts?

Secondly, I wanted quick clarification on the stages. Research a part until say “Excellent” is quite self-explanatory, however when it says develop until 95%, what would this mean? Does this have any knock-on effect to the production? And then a test bed analysis, again what would this be and is it worth doing?

If anyone has any tips on the development stage that would be appreciated.

Cheers

if your developing based on old parts - research is pointless so don't waste time and money there. The 95% part is finished - it takes longer to get to 100% past this point and I personally don't bother. One would assume it increases the chances of getting a good improvement on the part.

Test bed again I have decided against except for chassis as it adds time. This reveals the parts rating immediately but not its potential.

With regards to basing a part on an old or a brand new - that depends on the potential rating of the old part. For example your research rating sounds like it is at excellent. I would hope then that your parts potential is at excellent or close to it. So I would keep developing that old part until I get one at its max potential.

So when im developing the parts, I want to wait until it gets to 95% before finishing that phase? Sometimes i cut it off early (ie when its at 30%).

My research limit is currently "Very good 8/10" and all my parts are currrntly a the level "Unsure 5/10). My production quality is "Very bad 3/10" so i produce loads of usless parts for the car....

Would you still develop old parts of create new parts? How do i produce better parts?

Thank you

if your parts are currently unsure but have the potential of very good then I would continue to develop those - as next season a lot of parts max is going to be very good.

I have never finished a design on as low as 30% so you tell me how well that worked out? Earliest I have finished is at 80% as I needed that one part done in order to be ready for the first race back in season 2 and it didn't hurt the part to badly.

How to make better parts? You need a better design team and a higher research level in order to create parts with a higher potential. First (brand new) parts are often low down but have a higher potential to develop them to.

I really wouldnt stop developing at 30%, I guess there is a huge penalty and therefore you can never reach 8/10. If there is no pressure, I'd always develop until 95%, after that you can finish and its fine.

If your part has still lots of potential, I would create a new part based on the old. If you reached the potential, you could start a brand new part.

Keep in mind, that if you design a brand new part that you need to have a high current research level!

So the latest parts after your replies, i researched until "Unsure" and then developed them until 95%, so the full cycle was complete.

I still have developed parts which are rated as "Very Bad" and "awful"? No improvement on any of my parts. Actually worse...?

My research limit is "Very good" but my proudction quality is "bad"... Is this why im still developing bad parts? If so, how can i improve them as my car is still awful. At the moment i would take parts that are rated as bad....

Thank you

The first parts are always not great. Do a lot of mileage, and check the potential. It should be around your research level.

Would you develop new parts or continue to develop parts based on ones ive developed?

The potential is how good the current parts can get to. So develop current parts until they reach their potential or start again with new

Keep in mind that based on development doesent work over seasons right now. So until that gets fixed, build brand new parts for next season.

But for in season development, you are better off producing based on parts.
