I can't seem to find a sponsor's sector until after I have signed the deal. This makes it difficult to choose sponsors to negotiate with when I want to give exclusive rights. How do I know that I'm not signing another construction sponsor? Is this an oversight or am I just not seeing it?

It should be there. Are you playing on a PC or mobile? I have found that the game isn't mobile-friendly and does not display all of the information, so you have to switch to your browser to the 'desktop site' display.
