This is one of the top two traps many new managers find and with almost no income the fun is gone fast

lets just remove the ability to put suppliers on the car - as no one in their right mind would do it unless they are getting a big benefit from a works deal. I dabbled in negotiations in this area and the suppliers still wanted a big increase in cash even with sponsor slots so i abandoned it.

The aspect of adding Sponsorship spots to the suppliers hasn't been full functional able yet since when talking with a supplier/sponsor/driver the negoications are suppose to be a two way street. Supplier ask for fixed Cost & cost per set but we were suppose to have a chance to increase or decrease this values based on different criteria that have never been implemented.

One of the biggest criteria was placement of Sponsorship spot on the car. Let me try to give an example:

Facami engines has a fix cost of $13 million and $800,000 per set cost so by offering them say Level 5 sponsorship section you would be looking at an automatic discount of between $3 - $5 million; which is the going rate for this section as well as say half the set cost.

This would cut the cost down from $13 million to between $8 - $10 million and $400 000 for set cost; for such a supply but it depended on the different criteria of your team from Drivers sponsorship (Not implemented), Division of your team (how well known) etc...

I also took Work contracts where only suppose to be signed if team offered sponsorship section of level 5 and Partnership was suppose to be level 4 since they would give a discount while supplying better technology based on being either a Works team or Partnership team. This doesn't seem to be working as intended either.

It was suppose to be away to supply your team at a discounted rate mixing up the play ability of the suppliers & sponsorship aspect of the game.

Even if the Works & Partnership aspect was fixed then this would make more sense then in it current format but understand when Frank has the time he will add these features in as the base script is written but simple not completed.

still new managers are making this mistake

It would be decent if a new manager can NOT give a sponsor spot to a supplier in the first season without getting at least a notification that this might be a very bad idea
car is shitty, drivers most likely too, no money, no resources, and no income...

I wonder how many teams quit pw cause of this issue
(not counting Uriels)

I can see why the feature is in the game but I think it causes too many problems than people get benefit from. It either needs to be reworked in a way that you can only offer sponsor spots as a partner/works deal and then not allow new teams to have these type of deals for the first season or scrap the feature. A warning is only useful if someone reads and understands it.

Or as shown above, its only obvious to those that KNOW how/what/why these features work.

For the rest of us monkeys (which is most of us), its just extra (pointless) confusion to have it there at the moment.

Hide / Remove it; or add that warning.

Game Killer for sure.

@Sanchez: How KNOW how/what/why these features work?

My understanding from all the above post is that everyone currently understands that the Works & Partnership aspect of adding suppliers to sponsorship deals hasn't been completely implemented thus adding suppliers to sponsorship deals should be removed atm or have a huge warning.

This was a feature that we asked for from Frank when Pitwall 1.0 crashed as we wanted to bring the game closer to F1 with Work teams (Manufacture teams), Partnership teams (Renault & Red Bull) and then customer teams (Williams, Toro, Sauber etc...) This was the way that Frank had decided to bring in work teams through sponsor slots to suppliers. It makes sense to keep it simple this way and give anyone a chance to sign such deals if they are going to take a reduction in income thus not give a huge advantage over a customer team since a customer team will have more money then a works to to out develop them else where.

We also asked for pay drivers, which hasn't been implemented yet either and the thought process was to have the driver bring sponsorship with him rather then straight pay driver so it would be rather a discount system then straight pay.

Understand that the game is still very much in it's early develop state as Beta we decided to release the game since it was in a playable form with understanding that we had some major upgrades coming as Frank continued to develop the programming and script of the game. This has always been the case even with Pitwall 1.0.

The game is always being improved upon by Frank based on our suggests. Now a days with Frank working and juggling his day to day schedule it can take more time to see such changes and progress but have faith that he will add the warning and make the changes that he feels is needed to make the game better.

Let me also state I am also not sure if Frank has any plans to implement any of the above mentioned features any more as things change from time to time based on a whole bunch of factors like time & complexity of adding any feature to the game.
