What I mean by this is the separate research for seasons. As in can you no longer base a season 10 part on a season 9 one?
Because if you can it pretty much makes the separate season research levels obsolete anyway (until the part drops to a point where you need to do a new one)
So how does it work? Any one know for sure? - I need to know as if I can base on my current car I can focus on it this year but if I need to do a whole new one I need to at some point raise research for season 10.
@Daniel: it is the same as previous development script as you can base next season car on season 9 car if you want. What the research for season 10 allows is for managers that don't have a very good car to research a head to get a head start on research in season 10 but again this doesn't work as intended per say since season 9 is the season that you would write off to develop a strong chassis for season 10. Plus if you have a new designer coming in season 10 then you will want to wait for the new designer anyways.
So I am currently unsure why we have the chance to research into future season when only the current research levels really matter.
I agree since the chassis isn't the most complicated part on an F1 car. When you usually look at the complicated aspect of an F1 car it is usually the combination of a few parts working well together as to if the car is any good. Like Floor, diffuser and Sidepods.
Look at Ferrari this season with the huge under cut side boards that are feeding into a flexing Floor that is allowing them to increase cornering speed compared to other cars at the moment. So effective i heard that Red Bull is creating a fully new car with this added to their design but it means a B-Spec chassis by the first or second European race.
