My Max research level is at "Bad" and currently all my parts of my Car have a rating of Bad...
How would i go about increasing or making my Max research level better? Surely there is no point in developing or researching parts as they have reached the max level and i'm only wasting money?
With that in mind, just to be sure. I am researching and developing the parts in R&D to then produce them? So if i develop a "Bad" part, then i should produce a "bad" part for the car?

You can increase the max research level by having a better design team (always make sure your best designer is the head designer). The more juniors you have the better as well but they have to be assigned and you would need a bigger HQ. Once you have reached the max level it just means that it has hit the same visible level as your max research. There could be differences inside that level though.

You should do but the actual part could be +/- 1 or 2 levels either side depending on how lucky you are.
Yes, this is one of the problems with the research aspect of the game but as Adam stated you can try to develop aggressive parts as they will come back either -2 or +2 levels meaning your max part rating isn't [Bad] but rather [Unsure] or [Okay] but the question becomes how much money are you willing to spend to try to squeeze that extra development out of your car when it might be better to not develop and save extra cash for a better designer or two.
I have had this same problem for my first three seasons but I have a huge bank role now that I have two Superb designers joining my team next season that should really be able to push my development.
The game is a long game aspect to it as you build up your resources to be successful from sponsors, designers, car and then drivers but not always in the order.
Plan two or three season down the road and you will be very successful when you want to be but watch your cash flow as you don't need the best of the best to be successful here anymore!!
morale has a big effect - workload I think also but this has not been confirmed. - number and quality of design team - ie I had a top head and 4 juniors for superb rating - now have a very unhappy 'good' head and a lot of juniors to only achieve excellent
research only is in effect on a brand new part as it decides the potential that part can become. So if you are improving a current part research has no impact!
Perfec, so in the Development part (R&D > Development),
I have say X3 specifications created of a chassis. If X2 of them are "very bad" and the other is "Bad", its worth deleting the two chassis's which are very bad and only develop parts from the "bad" one?
yep - at the bottom of the blueprint it has its current rating - at the top is its potential - if current ability is say bad - but potential is very good - then it is worth making a new design based on that design.
So if you have 3 develop the one which has the higher potential as Lukas said - unless it is very heavy as weight has a big impact!
