Robert I have no idea what you are on about. I use a mobile to type, it auto corrects Robert to Richard as I have a friend that auto jumps capital R everytime and no other capital R words, so no it's not intentional and I apologise.
If you bothered to read my posts you'd see the auto-correct mistakes that happen when I type in the chat logs.
You can report me all you like, I actually think it's funny as I'd never noticed it do that before. How many other times out of interest?
After listening to Wolfe interview over the Spanish GP weekend here; Staff should only be paid based on top drivers results aka Team results. As Wolfe stated that all the staff at Mercedes are suppose to be Team based results orientated and not driver based; which is why the moved some staff around from Nico and Ham mechanical teams.
I thought that was interesting!!
Similar aspect being hinted at why Max was moved out of Toro to Red bull but more like young driver causing issues due to his potential upside and forcing the hand of Red Bull to sweeten the contract or he was headed for Ferrari at the end of the season.
I agree we should only be paying staff a bonus for the best placed finish. I would imagine real life commercial teams would have this written into their contracts.
Richard: I think all staff should get their bonuses, but paying them a win and podium bonus for a 1,2 finish is bonkers.
In which case do we agree the bonus system is currently broken?
Aside: I have always assumed that staff championship bonuses are based on the CONSTRUCTORS championship. I'm now starting to think that a driver winning (but losing the constructors) would pay it out anyway, which is also bonkers.
Should the team only get the prize money for the better placed driver?
I think the solution is in no small part to increase the prize money for wins and podiums. As there is a distinction between the amount a staff member wants as a bonus, this should be reflected in the value of the prize money. For instance, 1,000,000 for 3rd, 1,250,000 for second and 1,500,000 for a win. The prize money shouldn't be silly money, but it should make it more worth while winning.
