Why are my Junior Designers with such low morale when the head had superb morale?

My head designer was great, now today hes also nosedived.

I understand a bad result, but all through off-season after signing they were very low. Only the Juniors. The drivers would also logically drop on a bad result, but they are much higher and very happy.

Is this a bug?

If a Junior doesn't make a part will his morale drop because of not being used (even if in a role)?

I am very confused as it makes no sense, fellow teams have the same designer numbers yet morale is superb.

Each member also has no negative news report so there isn't a reason to explain why its been terrible for 4+ weeks now.

My juniors also tend to be a bit more glum than the heads...

Have yours been glum for ages too? How exactly can you raise morale?

You need juniors to get a good development speed. So you have to blindly sign unknowns to get a skill report; then they're so unhappy enough to warrant to risking to use them because dev costs are too slow and too expensive if they produce crap parts; so they sit doing nothing and then drop your team performance all whilst demanding a higher wage.

You can't live with them in the team; and you can't race without them.

It's silly!

Maybe staff need part rating or performance clauses to warrant sacking without cost to the manager.

Right now they make all the demands without any incentive to produce results.

Some of mine seem unaffected and are still at 10/10 motivation/morale, some have dropped to 7/10 despite not having any complaints.

I'm looking for a pattern in the stats and can't really find one, although Frank did mention at some point that not every staff member will be happy at a team.

Could it be related to the team image somehow?

Perhaps, but then wouldn't other staff / drivers follow suit?

I am talking every new staff member and designer that joined last season. Double terrible morale AND motivation.

One or two I understand. But every single one?

That must be a bug!

it depends on the 'team' personality - ie there are different personalities and if everyone is different they wont like it. An average is done on the team and if a person is not similar they wont be happy. - I had the same problem last season

it might be the low professionalism of your team as they are mostly the ones with bad morale - however it does seem to be a vast unhappy plague that has hit your team so possibly a bug here!!

@ Dan: When did you sign your staff members as they are effected by the synergy of your team.

To many changes and a new members to your team causes huge morale drops until they learn how to work together. It's similar to real life you don't always get a long with the new guy at work and takes awhile for his true effect to take place after training and learning the job for a few months. This effects your whole team in production as well as morale.

So I am guessing you signed them in the last 2 seasons or so? Same reason mine took a huge hit as well at the start of the season. I also thought Frank had made some adjustments on this front as well to make it more harsh so it would take more time to build up a good team that can work together.

That sounds logical, but surely that's just more punishment to what is already a hard way we have to sign blind staff and expect to keep them years to show results when it takes enough time finding good ones.
