Finding good staff isn't that hard if you know what you are looking for a Frank as built in a enough clues. Problem I am finding is that majority of the larger team have already signed all the really good staff to long term contracts as their heads and have signed all the okay staff as their juniors.

This has left my team with terrible staff until I can start poaching these other staff members at inflated prices.

Oh, I can also try to look through the millions of staff members with terrible experience to try to find a gem but it also looks like some of the larger teams have done this already.

I originally liked the idea of junior staff members but without an age restriction (meaning the really are junior staff members) simple we don't have enough to balance the board for all teams to have a chance of increase their chance of having Very Good staff members.

Main one I seen hammered has been the designer pool!!

agreed - junior staff members must be under 40 imo - just to reduce the current saturation

Or just make staff more easily scouted so you don't have to:

A) sign blindly before seeing their stats.
B) wince as staff want a 3 year deal at 100K just to scout them to get ratings.
C) take an entire season to scout that person.
D) Find that person isn't happy one week into their overpriced deal, which ruins your teams morale.

There are plenty of staff. The problem is the lazy scout system that takes too long and doesn't help because you have to buy a person before funding out.

Staff should maybe be hired on loan once per team/person to make one part for the scout to make a report perhaps, then released and is then available with stats. Trial by actual work.

Poor teams could use this to make the odd single golden part from a random designer without having to sign them with a wage they can never afford.

I'm brainstorming all ends. Good and bad.

The current system is patchy. Scouring unsigned non employed drivers and. staff needs fixing.

@Dan: This is the way that Frank wanted it to work. He wanted to provide hints and have you work to find the really good staff members.

He has already bent once allowing some stats to be shown once scouted by your scout and showing some stats if signed by your team since you should understand if you have a good staff member after a few weeks or not.

You are asking for a fundamental change to the whole scouting and staff system that:

1. I don't think is needed
2. Frank doesn't want to make
3. Works the way it's meant

What you are asking for is going back to Pitwall 1.0 when it was more about time of a manager of finding a great staff members since most if not all stats where known. Very Unrealistic.

I would like to invite some of my staff to one to one conversations to figure out why they are depressed and demoralized.
I guess they want the team to be more strict or more relaxed, but without further feedback that is a shot in the dark

so please, dear staff talk to your line manager (who is me ;) )

@Robert I'd love to know what these hints are, because it's not obvious to me (I've blindly signed some staff with incredible visible attributes, decent education and they're still poor...)

(if anyone's interested in my designer 'Jarbas de Andrade Pereira', he's available straight away...)

Morale 4/5
Motivation 4/5
Loyalty 10/10
Professionalism 8/10
Intelligence 8/10
Charisma 7/10
Ambitious 10/10

Scout reports are mainly 3*

Stats are:
Experience 2/5
Reproductive 6/10
Inventive 4/10

Update - every designer still has red flatline morale and motivation.

There are enough positive results to at least jump one level higher, but still they remain rock bottom.

Now my drivers dropped then increased with the results. Makes sense. So why do the designers not follow the same route and increase their moods? This suggests other (hidden) causes not explained in the rules that staff are affected differently to drivers; or is simply a very big bug.

8 of my staff have terrible / terrible morale and motivation.

8 staff! The entire design back team. This is silly.

Not here to have a dig, but it would be nice if things were explained better or more clearer because right now they make no sense at all!

It does seem odd Don, particularly as it seems most of them signed a new contract with you last season. Your mechanics don't appear to have the same issue...

How was the morale/motivation when you signed them?

To be honest Jethro, I am not 100% certain when they signed, but I know it wasn't terrible/terrible!

My mechanic has been having a shit fit for 3 seasons now because he wanted a new contract - expect I couldn't renew it because he decided to retire several seasons in advance leaving me/him in a bit of a loophole.

Another listed bug that hasn't been fixed yet. But still, why would driver morale go UP and staff not unless they are affected by other means?

My other thought Don was that they may have been signed as a Head but put in a Junior position but that doesn't seem to be the case. And I assume their minimum number of races condition was met last season? (not sure what happens if it's not, they seem to hang around still!)
