Can anyone tell me if this is normal? I have developed a new electrical system and iterated 6 times (mostly to see what it does as it doesn't cost much).

I have concluded it makes things worse - 2 of those iterations have done nothing, whilst 4(!) have apparently set me back, to the point where the part's improved rating (bearing in mind I /have/ to iterate at least once) is now 4(!) levels lower than it was when I started - or at 5% rather than 9%:

Traction control
Project rating 4%
Improved rating 5%
Levels improved -4

What is the influencing factor here? Am I doomed to go backwards unless I upgrade my designers?

PS - did switch teams in the end (thanks Animal Racing!) - life is much easier with more points coming in every hour (even if this is not the best way to encourage new players to stick around).
