Hi all,

Former (Pitwall 1.0) Div1 winner returning after a very long absence. The learning curve appears to have grown considerably! I've had a look through the help pages but there is A LOT that is still unexplained.

Can anyone help with sponsors? Progress tab is currently:

Feedback
- There was no progress because the sponsor feels that your relations are too low.
- The sponsor is unimpressed by the skills of the commercial manager.
- The sponsor doesn't really know you well. Your relations are low.

Questions
1. What are 'relations'? Is this interest?
2. What's a reasonable number of commercial points to offer? There is literally no way of gauging this, or even advice from my commercial manager (unlike salary expectations)
3. I have just signed a 'proper' commercial manager, but apparently his skills are still lacking, even for 2* wealth/section 1 sponsors.
4. At no point do the help pages say when progress should happen, or how quickly. Obviously this will depend on lots of things - but how long should it be 0% for?
5. If I can't address the feedback, is there no hope?

1. yeah as you can read in the last point of that guide. you have to invest points to make interest rise
2. it doesn't matter, the sponsor will ask the same amount to sign with him. when your offer is higher than sponsor's request you will sign with it when you have all the points the sponsor wants
3. not so important i guess
4. you have to rise the interest until the sponsor will show his requests
5. don't worry, there is always hope ahah

Thanks for the reply. I had read the guide repeatedly, but still had lots of questions. I have played around and wasted a load of commercial points, but I had assumed negotiations progress over time - i.e. they update on the hour/dayupdate. I think from what you're saying and my own experimenting they don't do this at all - it's just if I change the variables of the offer (which are: interest/fee/exclusivity etc)...

i understand your situation, we all went throught that when we started playing. The goal of the guide is to give the basis to play, not to succed. To succed to this game you need some experience and some effort on your own. after you sign with the first 2-3 sponsors all will be more clear

Hmm...whilst I agree, it also needs to be accessible to new players - easy to play, difficult to master etc.

I think I have just realised that the 'progress' bar has some link to the commercial points as a % of the total points required - so in theory it increases (slightly) every hour. Or at least, when I just spent a load it went down rather than up.

Now to see if I get promoted after my first and only race in my current division...fortunately someone lasted two weeks earlier on in the season so I can't win at least.

Can only one run car though as I don't seem able to produce enough parts (-524 red points)...

Also an older players who's rejoined Dan! (Though i never won division 1), i am also pretty sure that, like you said, the progress bar is the % of the points you've already invested+the points in your "bank" compared with how many the sponsor needs to agree and sign up.

As Matteo has said, over time they seem to sign regardless. It's also the final race before a new season, so i wouldn't stress too much over only one car too
