The new season is almost here, and in just a few days the engines will finally roar again for Season 47!
After weeks of preparation, testing and strategy, it's finally time to find out who got their setup right… and who will have to blame the weather, traffic, or their race engineer!
While waiting for the first race, I decided to run a little experiment, just to make the countdown a bit more interesting and to celebrate my come back season in DIV1 (with a new team this time!).
Based on data currently visible for the Division 1 teams, I tried to estimate what the qualifying times might look like for the first race of the season.
Here is the prediction I came up with:

Of course, I'm not saying this will be the actual qualifying order. It's simply a prediction based on the information currently available to us. Actually, it's more a gambling than a prediction.
And that's exactly what makes the experiment interesting.
So, why not make it a community challenge?
I'd like to see what the other managers think.
Post your prediction for the pole time of Race 1, and if you want to go one step further, add your predicted Top 5 or Top 10 as well.
Then, once qualifying is over, we can come back to this thread and compare everyone's predictions with the actual results.
We could even have a few unofficial titles to fight for:
Who predicts the pole time most accurately?
Who gets closest to the actual qualifying time?
Who predicts the Top 5 most accurately?
And perhaps most importantly: how much can we really understand about the competitive order from the data currently available?
I've decided to put my prediction down before qualifying, so there will be no changing it afterwards.
Now it's your turn!
Post your predicted pole time for Race 1 of S47 below and, if you feel like it, your predicted Top 5 as well. Predictions are valid only if posted before friday.
Then, after qualifying, let's come back here and see who really had the crystal ball.
S47 is almost here. Let the championship begin!
