Some teams are using Wet tyres to test their parts on a Dry track because they last longer, ie 150 laps versus Hards (60 laps).

Given the new tyre set limit, this is (albeit awesome) a bit of a flaw.

Wet tyres should not give you anywhere near as much car setup data as dry tyres. Not in real life, it's useless.

As such, would it not be sensible to rework the data reveals to make Wet tyres on a dry track give only 20% or so the reveal correct tyres should?

Making the flaw known to all until it is addressed.

In real life wet tyres would not last long under dry conditions because wet tyres are usually softer than slicks.

I do not understand why inters and wet have better durability anyways...

and I agree on the quality of data problem - but that would not be an issue when the inters/wets have a shorter lifespan than slicks

The issue with the life span is that in wet conditions, wets do last longer compared to dry tyres in dry conditions. Making it so tyre life varies depending on the track conditions must be a nightmare to implement into the game.

Particularly when conditions can vary during a race!

Tyre limits in testing weeks is in itself a flaw if you ask me lol! Personally i dont think the hard tyres last long enough, increase their durability and there would be no need to use wets.

When we have to try and reveal part stats, limiting tyres in the first two weeks makes life difficult. Normally I would say the hards last long enough, just whilst trying to reveal stats and compare drivers it can get difficult, especially for the latter.

Unlimited tyres for test weeks is the easy solution.
