I have noticed this quite a few times over the course of the game where users sign a person on a future contract, only for the person's current team to dismiss them. It means that person is without a team for a while and doesn't improve or gets worse due to morale dropping. Nobody can sign the person to give them a job in the interim nor can the future team be able to take them early. Managers are able to take a bigger immediate cost to save money in the long term whilst screwing up the team that is due to take the person. I have seen this happen to three people I have signed for the future but for plenty of others as well.
I feel managers should be able to have the option of signing them earlier if they are dismissed or other teams should be able to sign them for the interim period.
Something similar has happened to me with Soler. I signed him up because I gave him what he wanted. 1 day after he signed, everyone started offering him contracts again up to season 12. I did the same, satisfied all his conditions again, but he signed with someone else.
You can't blame me for wanting to get rid of him asap. There should be at least a minimum period in which a person is not approachable. If I get someone contracted for a longer period with comparable stats, I'd drop him in the same second.
It needs a bit of work but to what extent im not sure.
If a member of staff or a driver becomes obsolete due to the folding of the team they are in then after a few weeks (gardening leave) they should be available to take up their new position if so requested by their new manager.
As for drivers like Soler signing a new contract with someone almost straight after joining a team... id say an agreement where any member of staff or driver is unable to negotiate with an external team for a period of 1 season from the start of their first contract could work, im not sure how that would be implemented though...

I don't blame you, I just don't think it is right that someone from one team has the ability to screw over another team.

It should be a percentage of their contract but not an exact percentage else people will work it out and be first on the scene.
we had the problem that persons with a future contract joined immediatly after beeing fired from the current team in pw1 - it messes up financial planning as well as person planning - e.g. I do not have a spot for my future main driver until start of next season but would have to pay him weekly wage - and properbly the person would be upset cause he can not race the min races garantueed...
my 2 ct - in case a person gets dismissed the future team should have an option to hire him earlier of the person should be available until the new contract gets in place
future contract negotiations also should not possible BEFORE the last season of the current contract
I generally will fire or bench a driver that is going to another team unless i am in a position to fight for a championship. Reason being is that I am better off giving seat time to my secondary drivers to get their stats up so they are more useful when my team is in a spot to challenge. Although this is at the bottom end of my reasons and really doesnt make too much difference after testing and a race or so if I can lower a drivers Moral before he moves to a competitor then thats also a good reason for me to move him on. I also view it as saving some money by firing a driver im not going to use. The only way around this i think is to go back to the days where a driver only negotiates a contract in the last season.
To add some realism allow drivers to agree on terms with other teams but in the last season of their contract the current team can negotiate with the driver to keep them, the team can also see the other agreed contract in the last season to have a better chance of keeping their driver. (Having the other teams agreed terms only appear in the last season will limit teams from dumping drivers they know they cant keep)
I understand the idea that drivers these days negotiate with teams at almost any stage of their current contracts but I also know that drivers are very likely to give their current team a chance to keep them. At this point this is missing from the current set up which is causing some issues. We have also seen more and more in the last few years of F1 that driver line ups stay very much the same.
A team with a contracted driver should have a huge advantage in keeping them. Currently i feel its the other way around and is unbalanced. It currently feels easier for someone to poach a driver from a team then it is for a team to keep their driver.
I am sure that almost all of the current F1 teams or teams from any series for that matter would fire any of their drivers that wanted a new contract almost straight after signing, especially if the driver got the poos and drove slower because their moral dropped.
As we see with Redbull any of their jnr our current drivers are locked up so tight they seem to be able to keep them as long as they wish.
May also be a good idea to have a final agreement from the team, e.g A team approaches a driver (or the other way around) they lay out the terms of the agreement, if they both are happy then the team are to have a final sign on the dotted line before a certain time after the terms are agreed.
This way a team can have 2,3,4 5 what ever options on the table and then can decide whats the best option for the team, again bringing the power back to the teams where it should be but also adding an extra element where a team needs to make a fast decision on their drivers or risk having an option signed by someone else. It is also more realistic as im sure these days as it always has been a team will have several options to pick from before they make their final decision

That would be good as it will stop teams where the manager hasn't signed in since they offered the contract from signing persons.
I understand why some of you bench drivers/staff that signed elsewhere, and that you want to lower their morale to hurt the team they signed for. Personally though I go the other route. While I hate to have lost them, once they are signed by another team, they will never ask you for another contract extension, and their morale/motivation won't drop because of this. So I keep them and use them to gain the best results I can for myself.
Looking at the Job Market now anyways, after my current staff and drivers are finished with their current contracts they will probably need to be replaced anyways, so I'm already now looking ahead with Junior staff, and building up youths as best I can while keeping my eyes on any quality youths from other teams to replace my drivers in 3 or 4 seasons.
But heck, to each their own. That's what's great about pitwall, the ability to play it so many different ways.
I don't necessary agree that it's about hurting another team. I forgot where Soler is going to and doesn't interest me. If I have a driver which I can improve for the seasons following Soler's departures, it's in the long term interest of my team to drop Soler and work on my future drivers.
