Well after watching my race and having a great driver with a massively quicker car (1.5 seconds a lap easily) stuck behind a relative novice and failing to overtake in 16 attempts before getting him at a pitstop i have to sadly agree that there is something massively wrong with the calculation for overtaking...

Needs fixing Frank, if not now for certain in the new race script.

Also why have my driver stats dropped so much..?! lol!

I do like the idea of adding fuel to qualy but i think that should be an added extra on top of fixing the overtaking ability.
I know it changed to one lap qualy a season or two ago it could rotate every few years through a few different qualy rules.

There will be 3 quali laps next season Tim, it does change, but not had a radical change yet.

@Frank, any idea when we could possibly see changes like this be introduced?

Not sure yet. I have introduced some tyre changes for next season which should make that aspect a bit more "exciting".

About the 3 laps for next season, it's possible that those change back to 1 if I implement the start with race fuel changes for next season.

Regarding the over taking, that's another topic guys :)

Not agreeing with the points for quay just yet until we see if the strategies really do vary. Otherwise it could just be extra points for those already getting points.

One change at a time Frank, keep the radical ones bitesized.

Revised qualy would be good. Qual on race fuel is great.
But maybe bypass the fuel use calculations so they start both qual and race on the same amount (ie 120l).

I remember the mess of calculating qual fuel use and running a lap or two under in the race. Bypass it all, same effect, just less mess and confusion.

What about having 3 laps like bat racer and you set the risk/safe factor.

Go for the pole, or crash trying. Slow and steady. Midfield.

That could vary it further and shake the grids to encourage overtaking.

You could get a race refined setup doing 3 careful laps, but end up last. Or a low refined setup but be at the front of the grid.

Too random to be honest. There is risk there at the moment for pushing too hard. Also, shaking up the grid isn't going to encourage overtaking when overtaking is so difficult in the first place. All you will see is people getting annoyed more as they have "bad luck" in quali and it ruins their race. Taking the safer option won't make it any better.
