With youth drivers, there seems to be an issue with the overlap in ages and forcing them to become redundant.
Last season, many youths were suddenly outed from the championship as they were too old with a few races left. This is a bit unfair.
Surely, if they were the starting the series at the right age, they should be allowed to complete that season, even if they end up a year older by seasons end.
The same for drivers that are, for example, aged 9 at the season start - they should be allowed to enter that season and complete it provided they are aged correctly for week 1.
Right now a 9 year old can't enter a Y9 series, despite it being for 9 year olds and a few years younger.
Madness.
Otherwise this is surely going to mess up peoples youth plans because we will end up with more drivers per age related slot when they suddenly get older mid season, and then have gaps where they can't finish the season.
Quite a large issue I think, with an easy script change to solve it.
Frank said he will look into the youth age eventually, it is just not at the top of his list. So in other words if a youth driver is turning the same age as their class in that current season, then they will be able to finish the season in that age group, just like any youth sport. This will also give teams time to sort out the youth drivers in other age groups by making room for the ones that have aged & also getting rid of ones that are not pulling their weight.
