The youth driver age needs some fine tuning.
As we all know when one of our youth drivers reaches the same age of that youth class, then they are automatically removed from that class in the start, middle or near the end of that season. This can be annoying for certain reasons for everybody, but mainly chasing a championship.
Why shouldn't the rules apply like they do when we grew up playing football. In other words if your youth driver is turning 12 in the same season as U12, then you should be able to finish the season (at least).
Just like any youth sport my friends.
P.S. I know youth championships mean nothing, but it is annoying being taken out of a class during the season.
I suspect the problem lies in how the age is calculated. Those drivers on the borderline could perhaps be seen to have an advantage? Not sure on that though.
For it to work the way you are asking the age for elegability (how badly spelled was that? ) would need to not be there age, but there age at week 3? Or am I just confusing myself he he. I'll have to think about it more when I get off work.
I agree with you, Matt. Or, at least, if no changes are done, a notification should be added that the driver is not eligible anymore to race in his championship to be able to change his class immediately.
I think what i mean to say is that if for U12, if the driver is 11 years old at the start of the season (so Week 3) then they should be allowed to race that season in U12, regardless of when they actually turn 12
Cheers Frank, & yes, it is not important but something to play with down the track.
Just wasn't sure if it was too difficult to implement compared to the way you have it at the moment.
