Cheers John The chassis itself is taken so long to develop i was a little concerned i might not actually be able to produce one in time for testing next season lol!
All looking good so far though, half of season 2 parts designed!
took me 4 days to build with 20 mechs on 10% staff levels - but this was up to the saturday of qually so had to divert manpower for pitstops so 2-3 days would be realistic in off season
I developed a new chassis mid season which took just over 2 weeks, next seasons one is still on 0-5% after 1 week of development, taking so much longer!
That's strange that a mid-season chassis is so quick Matt, i did hear somewhere that as we get closer to the new season the development on next seasons chasis will speed up so maybe it's quicker if being designed for the current season. That doesnt make a lot of sense though and a little unrealistic.
Was the chasis an upgrade or a complete redesign?
My new chassis moved on from 0-5% after about 8 days of development i think, it's the slowest part i beleieve.
Tom, that would suggest the progress is non linear? I started next years chassis a week ago and it's still under 5% with 20 designers. That implies that it's going to take 20 weeks!
I don't really understand how I'm supposed to field a competitive car for next season.
I'm also not seeing how there is such a wide gap between a new week 9 player and some of the people at the front of the field. Seems those in beta got some major giveaways??
Chris, those from beta did not have any advantage. Everything was reset and we lost all our teams. The only small advantage (I don't consider it as such) is that we had an idea about some proven drivers in the beta but the info was public for everyone. BTW, yes Development is non-linear. It will start slow, then pick up pace and then get slow again when it nears completion.
