I have lost my top driver to a new team that's going to be paying about 2 mill a week + big bonus to him in div 3 that if he gets a div with no other teams will be broke before the end of the season, then a top 10 driver will be lost to the world
From the look of it, that same team has signed at least 3 other drivers. What's the bet they are also on stupidly high wages. The team has no one in it yet, but has effectively stolen a bunch of top talent from the staff and driver pools. Not good.
@les: I doubt that mercedesf1team16 (or Mercedes AMG Petronas) will ever run a single lap - those "guest" manager seem to be fishy, sorry in case I am wrong.
those manager(s) kill the market - but what is the purpose?
edit: in case a team has some decent staff and does not want other teams NOT to have decent staff creating "fake" teams to steal the other staff from real teams would week them and give an advantage...
It would be nice to have the first to blocks of the ip of the logged on teams or some "multi account hunter" like "the hogg" back in the days
Hopefully thats not the case Philip but i have to admit that was the first thing that came into my mind, what if they are just fake teams looking to take away all of the best staff... worrying
Just found out today that my head mechanic got poached by mercedesf1team16 also, probably again on some kind of stupid wage. Worse than that though was that I didn't get a notification that my mechanic had rejected my offer and signed with another team.
hmmm i smell a rat - 2 jamie guests - both joined at exactly the same time - however only one has continued to create a team the mercteam16 and is only signing staff for the future - could be a viable strategy although i dont quite understand the point. - only other team in the game with merc in the name is managed by pretty much the only other manager in the game with guest as second name - joined a few days after 'jamie guest' - this team has made multiple noob mistakes that will defo bankrupt team before end of next season. - if they are the same team i don't quite know what they are up to - but multi acounting is multiacounting - someone send them both an email letting them know they have been spotted and if they are one and the same to release all staff from one team.
I lost my driver to Slincon GP. I don't know if he has done anything wrong might just be someone new and not know how to play, but he will go broke in a real hurry
I have a feeling that now we can see how much a person wants in the contract, inexperienced people will just pay that. I've noticed several persons since this was brought in sign up to various div 3 teams, usually they are people who have just joined and not logged in for a few days. I have no issue with new teams signing top people if the team is active but these persons are going to be rotting in a dead team. At least when we can't see what the person wants, it meant it was less likely that someone would sign up to the game, sign top persons and then quit.
Personally I would rather see it go back to how it was and that meant you had to have some knowledge of the game to guarantee getting decent persons with inexperienced users needing to research or luck into getting the right persons.
I raised this issue in, what, season 1? Decoy teams, poaching talent, then left to fold.
Hate to say it, but I told you so!
I will try and dig up the post I made about the idea of having a wage balance that meant you could only actually hire a drive if you could 100% afford him for at least 4 weeks full payout.
Or similar.
Stops low teams making bids on top talent, the same way as Doncaster Rovers offering £500m for Lionel Messi.
Right now, there is no 'cap' incentive. You can offer 100 drivers all 100m drives. Nothing stops them all saying yes, but after one week, you are bust.
At the same time, you can mess all your rivals up, and price people out of the market. With one decoy team.
