@Adam: I doubt that - I had to sell shares to stay in the blacks (before I sacked staff and left) with a structural financial loss of 2-5 millions, depending on the results in the race, the better the result the bigger the loss
Another "issue" we have are "dead" teams - teams without manager/not active managers/no division - the contracts stay untouched and extremely talented drivers like eg Edward Vernon Weldon are lost (he will be 34 when his contract expires, most likely start to loose pace) - I would not be able to afford his demands, but still he was one of the best drivers so far.
Contracts with teams without manager/division/bankrupt teams should be automatically terminated after at least 3 weeks
Agreed, are those drivers even still getting paid from the dormant teams? Can't see why they're obligated to stay if the team is no longer a going concern.
Robert i see what your sayi g bu5 you missed a littlw point mine was based on. I wasnt saying we will run out of drivers there are heaps what i was sayi g is that if the market value is based on contracted drivers only then it dossnt matter how many are in the market if the market value increases too kuch then it will effectively knock out all drivers making the too expensive
Persons out of contract will have a low power position anyway so will be happy to accept low offers. Therefore the overall market value won't go too high.
The problem is still going to be new players, who are still going to overpay for drivers and staff, and are going to continue to inflate wages.
I know I overpaid the first season I played Pitwall, there was a great driver available, and I overspent to get him. He was great but my team struggled with money for 3 seasons because of having him.
yep - what happened to the non active managers getting fired after 3 weeks of no logging in? - I say make it 10 weeks - if not logged then manager gets fired and all staff released - this would solve a lot of issues and 10 weeks is long enough for someone to come back to the game if there was some other reason for the absence.
The reason for high wages, as I've said all along is just that example John. New players who don't know what they are doing and think they need to offer real world wages will always inflate the market with ludicrous contracts.
I agree that there should be a return to the bankruptcy / inactive managers being removed, or at least their teams being reset and releasing all the locked up staff. It's hard enough in this game to find quality staff and drivers, but to then lose those that are found to inactive and bankrupt teams for so many seasons is just silly really.
new manager should not be able to offer to high wages/boni in the first month (season?) to avoid that beginners mistake have a big impact on the market.... It also might take very long until those overpaid persons retire
Inactive managers should be released form the team after 7-13 weeks and .. but only if those teams are available for a take over afterward unlike those teams ElMayoGPTeam or CH Racing - new managers do not have the reputation to take over a div 1 or div 2 team
