Or even better could you do a guide or what to expect so we can decide how many staff we want.
e.g
Drivers aged 4-6 expected pay $10,000-$25,000 expected contract length 2-5 years
Drivers 12-16 expected pay $80,000-$120,000 etc

Designer. Aged 30-34 expect pay $200,00-$300,000.

Where each person sits on wage, bonus etc depends on experience and stats but it will at least give everyone a chance to go ok I have 8 mil income a year i can expect to hire 1 designer 3 youths, 2 scouts, pay for my development and still have a little bit of money left. I can see that it is frustrating that the staff now want a lot more but i believe the outcome for the rise is so people arent taking the piss and the money side of things are important which will mean people need to make sacrifices somewhere and still try to be successful. I just think there needs to be a little more knowledge so people can plan to a certain extent how their finances will look. Currently its unknown what the jump will be and how to will reflect on income in the future.

Im all for making it financially more difficult, will make it more of a challenge to balance all of the separate aspects. just would like some guidelines on what we can expect for planning

Frank i have just had a few of my staff wanting a new contract. which has made the become approachable. Is there any way to tell if they are now approachable to other teams as well?

Tom: "Id just pay what you are happy to pay. "

I think you are missing the point. No drivers = no racing.

The cost of having any decent (not even superb) driver has been set by Frank to an arbitrary number. That number is now significantly higher than the previous arbitrary number.

This is a balancing issue, I think the new system is good, just some of the variables need adjusting.

I had asked that question to Frank before Tim and he said it's possible but depends on a staff mebers moral and loyalty. If he is happy and loyal then only you will be able to approach at first. If you drop me a PM with the staff members name i can confirm for you if i can or cannot approach him.

Do we really need to have some sort of financial tool? The data currently provided is good enough to input into a spread sheet and calculate how much you can spend on staff, i got laughed at for making one previously but it allows me to keep everything in check.

And as for wages if the people being signed are in the top 50 then hell yeah they are going to cost a lot of money! A dcision needs to be made to wether you want that superstar designer or wil an okay one do?

I agree that paying average youths a lot of money is not good though. So far i have looked at signing really good youths and id say 20-40k per week for someone around 13-16 years old is alright given they are more Hamilton than Maldanado. For the lower ages nothing more than a few thousand should suffice.

Im quite excited about the financial challenges with the new staff system, deciding wether it will be beneficial taking on an 800k per week driver and if i do balancing it with less experienced staff. I think we all need to realise not every team can have staff with all Superb stats, this way it could end up being a bit of a mix up where one team might be better at one thing than the other.

Looking into it further it seems the power position of the driver has a lot to do with what they want.

I have just looked at signing a 17 year old with an Awful power position and Terrible experience as my first driver, he was happy with 800 per week and all bonuses set at 1000...

So no need to sign crazy expensive drivers if you cant afford.

I don't mean to whinge, but the only two things that actually matter in the game are having a 5/5 designer and a star driver. Without these you simply can't win, and so if these are now priced out of the reach of people in Div 3 (because its nigh on impossible to sign sponsors of any worth) whats the point?

I think there's more to it than that. If you have a good sponsor income stream then you'll be able to afford paying higher salaries for example. It's just that I don't want to have a game where you can stay in division 3 forever and just amass money and strike at one point and completely blow away the competition. I want people to actually go to a higher division so they can start hiring better staff/drivers or get better sponsors/suppliers.

Frank i have just had a few of my staff wanting a new contract. which has made the become approachable. Is there any way to tell if they are now approachable to other teams as well?

No, this is done by design. In real life people also don't say when they are ready to talk to other teams. I want to create a feeling of being uncertain for the managers by doing this.

The cost of having any decent (not even superb) driver has been set by Frank to an arbitrary number. That number is now significantly higher than the previous arbitrary number.

No it's not. I didn't change a single number in the range of salaries that the drivers expect. I have done my calculations and I don't feel the numbers should be changed.

I understand that it's a bit of a shock, but something had to be done to fix a system that wasn't working properly. I know the numbers, trust me, teams just have way too much money at the moment. I want running the team to be a challenge. I completely understand that it has changed a lot of things, but it was absolutely necessary.
Also if persons are asking for a lot of money it just means that a) they've been underpaid for 2 seasons already probably; b) they think they are worth that and a team will offer it. If they are unhappy with the offers then you'll see that they will lower their demands as their power position slowly reduces.

That being said, I appreciate all your feedback!

Good to know that their power position will slowly reduce, makes sense.

Im still getting used to the changes Frank but i think they are good for the game, good work!

The new driver contract demanding thing is getting silly. Why would one of my youths who just signed another 3 seasons recently want a new contract. He just got another podium; has finished top 3 in every race and is looking likely to win his youth division.

It makes no sense!
