I see your point frank, but the amount they want really is too much there needs to be a middle point

There is either a huge knowledge gap here, or something is broken.

Have you arbitrarily determined market value? As I don't think its in sync with our expectations, especially for D3 teams.

I now have two people asking for new contracts, the first is for a driver who was on 200k champ and 100k win bonus. I've upped his salary 50%, and more than doubled his contract to 350k and 200k and hes still saying "This is not enough... Therefore I'm not interested in what's offered at the moment."

We need a clear answer on if this means they categorically won't sign, or if (as per the old nego system) this just means they aren't happy but will sign anyway. I'm sure there is some fun in finding these things out the hard way, but not with our existing staff in renegotiations we don't want.

I feel this is a very generous offer given my financial position and the relative salaries of the rest of my staff, the highest I pay is 200k to my commercial. Youths are paid 5k max, now you are saying they expect around 40k??? For a six year old??

I don't mean to whinge, but the only two things that actually matter in the game are having a 5/5 designer and a star driver. Without these you simply can't win, and so if these are now priced out of the reach of people in Div 3 (because its nigh on impossible to sign sponsors of any worth) whats the point?

Im not sure a 6 year old would be wanting 40k, perhaps youths at a higher level and age. If they are the next Lewis Hamilton and they know i then they may well want 40k.

Id just pay what you are happy to pay. If the drivers reject the offer then so be it, they are too expensive for your team. I was looking at a driver that wanted 800k per week, needless to say i wont be offering him a contract even though his stats were good.

I think the days of signing drivers on 100 per week wages are gone but it should still be possible to get them for 10k if they are not super well known and have minimal ambition/intelligence. We will just have to see what happens with negotiations.

Well, I can tell you all my youth drivers are demanding to be paid when they accepted long term contracts. Both my four year olds want paid?? Really!!

I think the youth drivers need to be re-thought since I cannot afford to run my team and run a youth program that I have to fund as I am thinking it would cost a million plus to run the youth program. I understand 16 + maybe looking for some cash but under that I don't think they are allowed to be paid by law!! LOL!!

But seriously I am canning all my youths if I have to pay them!!

Unlike some teams i refuse to pay nothing for any of my staff. 100 - 300 per week for youths i thought was fair as this helps the kids family with school bills etc anything more than that for an under 16 is silly imo.

Do drivers know what division they are in? as i suspect that if they are winning races they will want more money regardless of how easy it was because of lack of competition in a lower division.

my main driver wants more cash but i will wait until the start of next season (when another driver joins) to see who's best and pay accordingly

Yeah, I was basing it off information here. I just negotiated a new deal for about $300 and his stats are showing an all superb future driver so fair.

My 16 year future star signed for a bit more around $3 000, which was a surprise since I expected him to demand more!!

I think something that may help Frank is a "live" budgeting tool when doing negotiations. Its sometimes hard to tell what outlay you are committing too.

Similar to what he had before with income & expenditures to see where we are losing our money.
