Agreed Jake, especially as it's so hard to actually sign sponsors in div 3.
My driver has requested a new contract, I've more than doubled the bonuses and he's still 'not interested'. Now everything has changed we need more clarity on if that means will not sign or means will sign just saying he won't, as per the old system.
if you cant afford them -dont hire them! - everyone has been making too much money these last 2 seasons as once you have sponsors - even poor ones your income is around 5m a week which is plenty for a div 3 team I want to be challenged on the financial side which will only occur when i have to decide if its worth paying good staff top dollar
With your driver - he wants more money but is under contract - he will just get unhappy when he doesn't get it. Frank said they still will take a contract if no one else offers one but just not for nothing like before
your driver is 32 and under contract for another 2 seasons - do you really care if he leaves? - i'm guessing he will accept a basic over 100k and big bonus 500k for champ etc. - its up to you if you want to pay that - i wouldn't not for a 34 y old. keep him till end of contract then when he leaves your team and is a free driver - with no income! - try again as long as your the only team interested you will be able to get him for what your currently paying
Jake & Chris, there were teams that accumulated more than 100 million just over the course of one season while upgrading their facilities. This was mostly done by having a full set of staff and drivers that wasn't paid. This was something that needed to be rectified, and there's no way I will go back to the old system.
As Daniel said, you can't expect to sign just everyone anymore now with this system. You need to think about it if it's financially possible to sign them. But that being said, you're probably negotiating who are in a strong power position (I've just added that stat to the negotiations page). Those are the ones who won't bulge, they usually still have a long contract remaining. And if nobody comes close to their demands then they won't sign anything.
Have to agree with Dan on this one, we have been enjoying the perks of the old contract system too much, time to realise that as a div.3 team we will not end up with the best staff or drivers.
I have made a bucket load of cash from employing people on the cheap and although they arent that good ive managed to win the championship. Im looking forward to the challenge of having to think about my staff choices carefully and plan for the future, have already decided to replace some of my staff as having a coach from the top 10 in a Div.3 team isnt really realistic.
Still lots of tweaking to be done though so no pats on your back just yet Frank
If we have staff on a long term contract, in a fixed active role, and they are working - when they get the arse and 'want a new contract' is this just them having a hissy fit?
They can't actually leave, can they? Is this simply they want a longer/short/higher paid role in the current team? And if not met, their motivation will just drop.
So basically, chuck more money at them, or fire them.
Is there a separate news report that says 'I want to leave the team'?

It's like the footballers who want a new contract after some time.

And if not met, their motivation will just drop. > They can't leave, but ignoring them will have a big impact on the motivation. Which results in their actual performance being lower than it normally is.
So basically, chuck more money at them, or fire them. > Yes, but probably it's usually less money than you would think. For example a youth driver that is worth 40k, won't ask 500k. Give him 40k and he'll be happy.
