Forum topic: some data for your interest (season 46)
Thanks Matteo, I've finished third twice and second once in the last three years in the top division championship, and I have almost a fifth or a quarter of the fans of a second-division team that has never been in the top division. I don't think there's anything else to add.
And we all know every other's "fans increase" -settings from the past?
it's true that the lack of players make this issue more evident, but even if you are the only player to maximize the "fan increase" settings, that doesn't mean that this fans mechanic is well balanced; the big thing here that need to be adressed is the extremely huge loop that this system created:
more win --> more fans --> more money ...lead to...
easier win --> easier to get more fans --> easier to get more money
now repeat this loop forever and now we are at the current situation where it's ALMOST like you are playing with "infinite money cheat".
and if you weren't the first one to exploit it, some other players would have done. probably you were the first one to understand the huge potential of fans income or just the first player to be good enough to win few seasons in a row, but don't be blind Henri please. i guess we all want a better and more competitive game where the gap can't be so huge.
i resigned from minardi because win in this situation didn't feel satisfying at all despite you and Fenninger were very tough opponents. even you once complained about the lack of competitiveness in chat, so a balanced fan system is necessary (but not sufficient alone) to improve competitiveness of players
After some tweakings to other team finances, it seems like Renttu Racing could live totally without the fans income. Season 45 would still have been financially positive when counting out all the fans income and taking out the cash cost effect.
Season 44 final results was negative, but last season (s45) was already positive. So for me, deleting those fans to Zero or implementing a new system which will start from zero, does not kill the overall team finances at all.
So it would be okay to go for it? I dunno how it would work with others?
your proposal could be a problem for those teams who are not ready.
imho the easiest way to have a better situation is to put an hard cap on the fans income (i'd say 2 million could be ok), but in the same time i would not eliminate the cash cost tax because it prevent teams doing some weird and unrealistic strategy hoarding money for few seasons and then have a huge spending potential who could ruin the market.
at the same time i think that Frank should check how the cash cost % is calculated because it's weird that it is still about 5% even after that teams have less money in the pockets i guess.
i don't know if there is an issue, but i don't think that junior teams or inactive teams should count in that algorithm if this is the case.
I suggested a temporary fans income cap of around 2 million because it is extremely easy to implement for Frank. It could already solve most of the snowball effect while leaving room for a more complete redesign of the fan system in the future if Frank wants to or when he will have more time.
I guess I must be doing something wrong (tbh I have never touched the fans settings) - but my team generated less than half the minimum income from fans than what is projected here. I got about 1.8 million weekly in S45.
Guess I need to check that.
it seems very strange. Let me know if you find something wrong
