Can't remember if I raised this idea already, but what if bonuses weren't a monetary figure (ie 100k) but a relative percentage of the total winnings.

You'd have to delegate % across the whole team.

If you win, one driver might demand 25% of that win; and the junior designer 5%.

If you are 10th, its 25% and 5% of that etc. All relative.

If you were able to make a page with every staff/driver; you must tally up 100% across each member.

Auto default is to spread %'s evenly if you don't choose.

The benefit is you could put more % on a driver one week to improve morale as an incentive. Same for a designer. Offer then 30% of any bonus, they might jump morale etc.

Also, having % values means you can add 10 new staff in the year, and it wouldnt cause 10x lots of 100k bonuses. But just divide the % across the entire team.

Much better, no?

Good idea, but how would you add that into negotiations? It'd be near on impossible.

I am not sure how racing contracts work but in other sports contracts are usually based on the following:

1. Money over set upon agreed time frame (long term contracts usually means lower yearly payments & short term contracts are more costly due to less risk) Player dependent.

2. Signing bonus - Flat fee for signing with the team could be used to have a player sign if agreed contract matches other offers.

3. In season bonuses - Agreed based off set amount of results (finishing in certain positions, scoring title, points etc...)

So I am guessing what would happen in the above idea would be season bonuses (Championship, wins, podiums & points) would be offered in a percentage base say nothing under X percentage should be given.

So while you could pay driver and staff less then X percentage then you would damage their morale but anything over X percentage would see an increase in their morale.

I would also say that if should be allowed to go over 100% since you may have extra cash in the bank that you want to spend for a morale or performance increase.

Other Option would be to remove bonuses outright from negoications and have them set weekly as set above from either 0% to 150% towards staff & drivers.

But either way I really like the idea but would also like to see morale moved to a number based system ranging from 0 to 150 as well to see if the staff member is angry to extremely happy or somewhere in between.

I think staff bonuses should be based solely on the end constructors champ result. Only drivers should get win etc bonuses

I also agree with that Daniel.

Maybe have drivers only have negotiation rights for bonuses and have all staff based off percentage based bonuses as suggested above; so it's your staff that works to earn their bonuses rather then a luck result as I rather see my staff perform all season long to earn a bonus rather then a single race or two.

Edit* I am tired so I am not sure if that makes any sense!! LOL!! 2am and writing in the forums not a good idea!!

I havent looked into enough but as long as a driver/staff memeber doesnt get 2 lots of bonuses based on both drivers. e..g a win and points then its all good.
Drivers should get bonus depending on where they finish regardless of team mates result
