2kg extra on a part that weighs 20kg is 10% extra. 10% extra on a chassis that weight 450kg is 495kg. Just because it looks small on the other parts that do not weigh a lot, doesn't mean that it is good. Likewise with the chassis, if you are a little way out, compare it to your other parts.

Adam,

I agree this need to be changed by Frank as 10% difference it a bit to high for weight of a part. It should be max 5% but based off the mechanics abilities as to how much % he might be off.

I have a Superb mechanic based on the scout reports I have so I wouldn't expect him to be off more then 1-2% max. Where a terrible mechanic might be off a bit more say 9-10% but more realistic 4-5%.

I would also like to see if we have a 10% chance of a heavier part then we should also have a 10% chance of a lighter part. As it should work both ways!!

I was just making up numbers in response to Luke's post. He was saying he can get most parts to within 2kg of the blueprint except the chassis. I was just showing that he was asking too much of the chassis to also be within a certain weight difference and should look at the percentage difference instead.

This would be a 5% swing on both sides making more sense!!
