Hi all,

Just inherited a new team after playing on Pitwall before the big crash.

I'm a little confused by the new part developments screen. I've started developing parts for next season (Chassis and other parts). I only started the other parts a few hours ago and they are already finished.

This can't be correct? I based the parts on this seasons parts which haven't had very much mileage, is this an issue?

Thanks,
Dan

Daniel, your first parts developed, and first 2 of each type produced are done instantly (or at the next hour update). This is to help new players get up and running sooner.

All parts you develop/produce after that will be at the normal speeds

Yep, that's correct and perfectly normal. I'm working on a tutorial system, and also make some changes so that it's less confusing :)

After your first ever parts, it will be back to the normal "waiting" for development/production.

Does this not open up a potential loophole? Manager quits team and then rejoins in order to start next seasons development and finish instantly?

It certainly provides a huge advantage to any new managers. perhaps it would be better to just allow instant production of parts if designs already exist?

Tom i would think the amount of work required to get new team up and running would be enough to stop people from doing that, to get a better car you would need to get a much better designer and they are hard to come by at the best of times

Tom, no as the instant part is looking at the team and not the manager. If the team had a previous manager, then the instant bonus will never apply. I think this has given some confusion to new members in the past.

There are two changes coming up to make sure that there's not a lot of confusion:
* A tutorial that will be linked to the member, and thus will be shown to every new member.
* A change in development is coming up so that it's no longer possible to create an amazing part if you would be able to hire a superb designer (technically it's possible today).

I don't understand that second point Frank. The wording makes it sound like we will no longer be able to make amazing parts at all.

I think he means if you develop a part with no designer and then get a superb designer it applies the stats of the designer

I see, so in other words your parts will only ever be as good as your designers ability... makes sense i guess.
