Welcome to Pitwall 2.0!

A little more than ten years since the launch of the original Pitwall, three and a half years since the crash that led to the unexpected end of Pitwall 1.0, and one year and a half since the start of the beta I'm pleased to announce that the beta of Pitwall 2.0 has finished and that the game will restart on Monday 19 January.

Since the crash of the disk controllers that led to the complete loss of both the database and the backups, a lot has been changed. First of all I made sure that this would never be able to happen again, and secondly I decided to re-build Pitwall from the ground up. This meant that I was able to introduce changes to the structure of things that I learnt over the past while working on the first version of the game.

It's impossible to sum up all the changes that have been made, but to sum up a few things:
* The game is now completely translateable (some pages still need to be translated though, but that should be done soon).
* There is a help section that will guide newcomers around the game
* All drivers, designers, mechanics, commercials, scouts, coaches are now considered as the same type of person. No longer are they all separate entities.
* The racescript is now the sole racescript. In the first version of Pitwall the testing, qualification and race script were all different kind of scripts.
* Every page has been re-designed
* Teams can go public and members can buy shares of teams, which gives them executive power
* Complete revamp of previous features such as sponsors, development, negotiations, scouting, ...
* Teams now need to build facilities
* Press will now ask you questions in interviews which will influence your team
* And much, much more!

Last but not least a big thank you to everyone who beta tested the game. Thanks to you all I was able to do many bug fixes and many tweaks. Thanks!
