as above - that's the only point to restructuring - to fill the div 3's up and therefore have competition and better teams more likely to have a chance of staying up actually stay up rather than get relegated to an emptry division with no one to race against. I had a lot of fun in div 3 when there was 5 or more teams
I also like the idea of spreading points a bit more. Maybe a system like they use in MotoGP? The first 15 teams get points from 25 to 1. Or something like Top 10 get the usual points and all finishers (including Top10) get 1 in in addition to reward finishing.
But I also think the current point system is alright and realistic, so I wouldnt mind leaving it as it is.
or maybe if teams do not participate in a certain % of races, once they have competed for more than 1 season, then they get automatically relegated?
A game i play called trophymanager keeps track of last active login and any team with over a month inactivity is removed from the game at the season update. Maybe the same thing could happen here?
#11 by Dan Mills I think the points definitely need extending though. There has to be a reward for low end teams that always turn up and go home empty handed.
People like me should not be allowed to have one good race and not bother the rest; versus a team that is always there.
Any league system has the same issues. Teams get x amount of points but are not good enough for the top or way clear of the relegation zone. You can have whatever point system you like, it will always be the same.
If the minimum amount of races clause in the contracts work then there would be good reasons to turn up for races and disadvantages if you don't turn up. Same with the morale system. All that needs to be done is to fix what we have and not reinvent the wheel.
Adam that was the case with pitwall 1 - if you did not login for 3 weeks then your team was deleted - but back then we did not have the team manager option - ie changing teams as a job
3 weeks is way too harsh I think. what if you are on vacation without internet? or some troubles in private life. that would suck if you lose your team to that.
Not logging in is not the same as not racing. You can login and not race and you keep your team. If you fix the morale issues and the minimum number of races, then there will be bigger disadvantages to not racing.
