Why not just have that accurate numerical value visible?

It's still a game. I feel it would become more of a spreadsheet game if you are aware of every single value.

Agreed!! We don't need to see the numerical values.

Research should really be reset if the rules for a part change so that we would be forced to research that part all over again based on the new rule change.

Let the testing times do the talking rather than having everything revealed on a plate..

I'm in favor of the drop for changed regulations, but that would require a split of the research into current season research and next season research. Because if I only reset the research level at week 1, then everyone already has developed parts (and magically forgot how to create them).

Splitting it up would result in a situation like this: on week 1 the game calculates the research level based on the current research level, and depending on how much it changes the drop off from the current research level is bigger/smaller. I could also set a multiplier so high so that when the change is significant enough you could have your research level reset to Terrible (but that would be the case for everyone then).
This would mean that people have to think about when they start research on their levels for next year, but also that the levels need to be maintained through the year as they are copied on week 1 but are independent from each other from that moment on.

Sounds exactly how I imagined it would work in my head Frank.

I do wonder how smaller teams are coping with the extra demands on dev staff though? It does take a while for new teams to build a HQ capable of supporting a reasonable amount, and it seems there's a lot more to do now with regards to development than previously...

Would increasing the staff space for smaller HQ's be a possibility?

The costs for personal, most of the working on dev/research, are the biggest block of costs I have - these changes sound like more cost, any plans to compensate that?

I at this point dont see any major problem with the current set up. I think the thing which will help is a r eally clear and simple help page on how it works. In effect the system is the same for everyone so it s a level playing field. The difference over time will be managers who understand it better will get better gains or be ab.e ro maintain their posistion. Constantly changing things is a great way to confuse people and have unhappy campers

I think it could be a good way of upending the order a little bit, at the moment in Div everyone is just working on maintaining their close to Superb stats.
