His skills say he's one of the best, but that doesn't mean a lot I don't think. Why? Because my fastest driver is apparently only rated 8/10 is speed and cornering, yet he's easily faster than other drivers with supposedly better stats.
Your 1mil driver contract, and Daniel's 1.5mil designer contract are whats hurting everyone right now I think. You are perfectly entitled to pay that amount, it's just that every other staff member looks at those figures and expects the same, or better.
Anywho, that's completely off topic for this thread, back to research. I noticed today that about half of my research levels dropped, I'm at the stage now where I can already see that making any new parts is pointless as they'll be garbage (compared to what i have already). Actually, with the contract changes, and now the research changes, I'm pretty certain my team will take a big hit. I'll be fine this season, but next I expect to be at the back of Div 1. Won't be surprised at all if I'm in Div 3 by season 6 because even with my designer who is rated (from my scouting) 9 / 10, my research levels are already dropping from a 9 average down to 7's
But surely your 9's and 7's are compared to your division? My 7 won't be as good as your 7 no? Or atleast thats how i remember it working in the old pitwall
No, the division has nothing to do with the research level, a 7 is a 7 regardless of iff you are in Div 1 or Div 3. The research level is your overall rating from Pitwall 1.0 not the divisional rating.
I think the problem is that we all started at whatever level our designers were, but our actual knowledge is very low, so for now they are all dropping to match our knowledge. Going to be a slower season 4 in pitwall as we all get our research back higher levels
Well, I don't think it will be that slow since I am only going to carry my develop forward into each season until my research catches back up; meaning a ton of saved Money!!

Luck had nothing to do with it as I focused on this season over developing in the first two season but lucked out on the changes to research didn't affect the current development levels.
I will suffer in a few season depending on my understanding of the research feature; but if I figure it out correctly then I could have a good car for a few seasons.
Research levels also seem to be falling faster then I expect them to fall as I based it on development only but they seem to be falling even without development being started/completed.
I will need to keep an eye out for this but is everyone seeing this or is it only me?
