Was there ever a secret? Was the suggestion was that you cannot research and develop new parts at the same time?
I am unable to try it out really as i only have 5 slots available and need all of those for researching so i can get those levels up before developing.
So far my findings are simply that research levels go up faster dependant on the amount of developers assigned and that the level will only go up as high as your designer level allows.
As for part research levels going up of their own accord, got no idea on that one, haven't experienced anything unusual like that happening.
I have never seen research going up by itself but I am running development with research and I see mixed results. I cannot cut development as research is not that important based on my current designs but I will need to get research up soon so I will post results once I get/ need them.
Well 3 reserach levels suddenly dropped a level this morning, 2 of them still actively being researched. Will be interesting if they then suddenly go back up as they should. Doesnt explain the reason for the drop though...
So a question i have had running around in my head I hope someone can clear up. I was under teh impression that the research level only has a affect of new designs? I have continued on developing current plans and have had no noticeable change on the jumps i expect
I'm also wondering about this Tim. I've got a rear wing with an Okay research level and it's failed to improve towards its potentials in four consecutive evolution designs.
Yes, it does fall for me doing evolutions. The reason I didn't think that research level affected evolutions is that I'd seen some gains above the research level earlier on.
However, looking back I think the gains were minimal (or at least affected) when doing evolutions on a part with a low research rating.
Right now with the level falling suddenly even with 25 designers assigned to research it im beginning to wonder whats the point. It was going up nicely for 2 levels and now it's doing the opposite with no change.
Really need Frank to join in with this massive conversation and actually clear up if that sort of change is meant to happen.
I too noticed evo parts seemed to have no improvement recently, i put it down to having a new chassis, as in the parts had to be re-made for my new chassis. I'm not sure if that is part of the game or if i'm having the same as James.
it would be good if Frank stepped in now though.
I had massive gains with 15-20 people researching, shot up 2-3 steps within 48hours then nothing for another 48 hours. Its happened with two parts so I'm guessing that means i've hit my limit with my current staff? But, my designed is rated higher than that level, so i don't get it.
