I have an interesting question for you as you have tripped my thoughts; Are you considering you designers skills when stating the above findings?
What I mean is I know my designers stats and my reproductive stat is higher then my inventive stats so it means that my designs can reach X level (reproductive) but will take Y in length to reach due to X inventive. Not considering his experience.
Most of my parts are already above my reproductive skills of my designer so I am not going to see much development growth but I need some research growth so I can improve some more parts. These are increasing but no where near the levels you are stating!!
So what are the stats of you designer as this could explain a lot more to me and maybe others?
A development had knocked my Airbox research level down to unsure. 2 hours and 595 spent and it is back up to to Okay.
Will be curious to see how long it takes to get up to 'Good' though.
Seems to go against what I was experiencing a few weeks back though, when I was researching Steering System and it dropped down. Was that because I'd done no development on Steering System beforehand I wonder?
I just wish Frank could clear some of the doubts here. There need to be more hard facts and less theories and experiments. Also, I wonder whether morale influences anything in this research function.
My steering improved from very bad to bad in 12-18 hours with 15 people so will keep everyone posted. I think where Frank said you can generally use less designers than developing a part, it seems its best to just use the same amount
I think we are starting to figure it out now.
Jean: For sure. Even at the moment it feels like we are making progress, it is still guess work. The true test to all this will be the result of new parts made from this research process. Next season when we see the results is going to show us if we have got it right or wrong
Thus an all Superb car and design level will almost not be possible.
@Dan I don't agree with this statement at all as by the data that I have collected it is clearly possible to have research at superb levels and designs at superb levels.
As you theory is leaving out some of the basic understanding that is known of the research levels and basic development.
I used to think this was a huge change and after looking at the data that I have collected nothing has really changed other then prolonging development slightly.
It also places more value one an all superb designer for the top teams in the game.
