I have asked this question before tried a few more strategies and am just as lost as before. I have mediocre to bed staff I tried hiring based on mental attributes complete waste of time, cost me millions in sackings and I still have bad staff. So I guess you need to fully scout staff before you hire, in which case I have two problems. first off my coach can't tell me about any of my staff, they are all still completely hidden to me. secondly my scouting list is full of targets who are free agents, but my scout despite not being allowed to roam does not scout them.
I am not interested in scouting staff who have contracts with other teams for seven seasons. How are you meant to find hidden gems in the game, surely I don't randomly hire people in the hope they're good. does frank need to look at this or have I missed something.
Top tip - if you are looking at free agents to sign - they will sign to your team for free or next to nothing - so wont cost millions to sack!!! at the moment you can only scout staff that are hired and in a position so although this is not good (and i think it will get sorted eventually when Frank impliments assistant roles) but it is how it is. Sign staff on the cheap and see if they are any good
Have to agree with this issue, team managers need some sort of idea as to how good an unknown staff member is and if they cannot be scouted at present then how are we to tell? I do hope this will be addressed in the future, a scout report of sorts should allow you to know if they have any sort of potential in your team.
As in real life though a high qualification doesnt always guarantee a good staff member, plus if that was the case why bothere having staff members without qualifications?
The risk (because you don't know their skills) is good because it is fair for everyone. It's also bad however for established teams, because if you lose a great staff member (poached or retired) then you can be stuck with garbage as a replacement.
A better idea of who is atleast decent, and who is just filler would be very handy, and again fair for all I think. Provided it's done right
