I was hoping my fans were smarter than that...

On second thoughts, I don't mind! :)

Yes, I believe you correct as the $56 million will be season end with current fan levels so if I loss some then I will lose some money but minor when your talking million versus thousands

Not a problem that 56M can be earned through fans?

On first thought, I would say yes :) seems like a glitch to me. But... that said... If we think of it as fan merchandise too, then perhaps that is not so unrealistic, i.e. hats, videos, website, etc

I don't get how you will make 56mil Robert, your team page says you only have 4704 fans. To bleed them of 56mil sounds like you found a bunch of very rich fools to be paying that much.

I currently have 272 797 and I'd guess at present rate I might make that to about the 350k mark, so if they all stay on for next season, that should be about 35mil in fan money.

We'll see in a few weeks time if that's the case.

Heavily biased towards success early on really, those extra millions will keep teams ahead forever!

Dan, in Beta i didn't charge my fans anything, and even as I was less and less successful on track, I still made it to over 1mil fans, because I was charging 0, you could then up the subscription fee and actually make money from them for the following season. It's still possible to make money with less on track success.

The extra money from fans can keep you going, and require less sponsorship income, but relying on fan money alone is a dangerous game. Also, I found in Beta (after using a sponsor bug) that you can't buy quick success in this game, because you are now limited to the number of staff, and projects you can do. You have to play it smarter, and find good staff (I've found a bunch of good staff that were still on the free market), and work smartly on your car development.

I can't agree with that whatsoever. As proven, I have zero results to speak of and zero fans with a price of....zero. All season.

So staff aside, it would seem fan base must surely be dictated by success at the moment. How can teams have millions of fans and others actual none.

I agree sponsor money isn't something to rely on, but from my experience it looks like only successful teams get fans, and only fans get the extra income.

I'm not a team with financial woe at all. I'm thinking of the smaller player, so there is nothing to gain ultimately to me. A poor team struggling to get results should surely be able to be popular (if not more) than some successful teams?

Look at Minardi.

It would give those teams the extra cash that would benefit them more than what looks like happens now - just making the already good teams ever so slightly richer.

Minardi was popular due to years of fighting the big teams and once in a while gain a good result. Making them a team to cheer for similar to Force India a few years back when they had a chance to get their first win.

In our situation at the moment we are more like Caterham, HRT & Manor where we simple haven't done much to draw the attention of the fans.
