My light car isn't garbage, it's just got a lot of development needed still though, especially aero, my designers are apparently completely unaware of the effects of air flow on a car.

I do agree though, having a light car makes things much easier. I'm already at work on my 4th and 5th chassis designs (both for next season), so i'll soon see if Naban has learned anything from her prvious designs.

Wow, that is a lot of designing going on!! I have only completed two design total but that was due to a mistake as I started my season 2 car way to early based on my first instead of designing an upgrade then my season 2 car!!

I also wasn't even hinting that your car was garbage as I have seen very good designs even when focused on weight!!

I did the same thing with my season 2 chassis, designed the first one off the first chassis design, think I also did it before I knew potential. So my S2 chassis at present is 50kgs too heavy and probably is garbage. I have 2 S2 chassis designs running right now that should finish before the season is out I hope.

As for chassis, look at the fastest team right now (or last I checked, their chassis was designed by no one (made without a head designer). So even with a mistake like that, it was possible still to get an amazing car.

haha yes Matthew! thats my car :) I accidentally designed it without a head designer! I did design a new chassis which was much better, but it was heavier and it was quicker with the terrible lighter chassis!

thats me as well - my designer has done zero work all season apart from an update to gearbox and next season stuff - the rest of current car was done without a designer

I have an unknown chassis too, that designer sure was busy at the beginning of the season hey!

Having a good engine seems to negate the impact of a poor chassis.

Saying that i have the worst chassis in my division and am using the worst engine yet i can still get on the podium, strategy is still very important in this game and that's something i like to see.

I will get to the top eventually, no point in getting there with contracts right away though, im in it for the long haul. Lets just hope it doesn't end up like Pitwall 01 where it crashed just as i was promoting to Div 1 ready to wipe the floor with everyone else lol!

Game on gentleman!!

P.S - Superb drivers also make a difference, anyone got any they want to somehow sell me?

I agree, a great driver can make up for a lot in this game. This season I've already discovered 2 really good unknown drivers that had never been signed before, and am tempted to go after another few that I've spotted who seem to have plenty of potential too.

But back to chassis, They are so important I think, that I'm going to start next season with 3 separate chassis designs. Provided any in progress designs don't vanish, being based on this season's chassis when it vanishes from the game at the end of next week's running.

Its an interesting approach Matthew, sort of hedging your bets right, one of them must be good! I like your style.

I have just finished my chassis, now just a nervous few weeks before i find out if it's any good?! Thankfully it cant get worse than my current one lol!

For my chassis, i built a decently good one for this season, and have been making one based on that, but I also just last week finished another one for this season that was better, so I'm making yet another chassis design based on it.

And then I have the first S2 chassis I made early on, it's a heavy lard ball of a thing, 50kgs overweight from the current chassis, so I need these new ones to be better (and they should be).
