I've had a look at a few of the rankings of the team and managers and I am really puzzled as to how they work because there is no consistency between them. Considering these rankings affect what teams you can take over if you get sacked or wish to leave your current team then I feel it is important to get it right.

The team rankings seem to be about right as the top 2 teams are the ones that have been in div 1 since the start and Matkor who have won 1 div 1 title and on course for a second are in 4th.

However, when you look at the manager rankings, they seem a little strange in comparison. Geoff Tate who is manager of the highest ranked team since the start is only 12th despite not being outside the top 4 in division 1 and winning 2 titles. Cornell Mateffy is ranked 34th compared to his team's ranking of 4th after taking the team from div 2 to winning 1 div 1 title. Finally, I have the 2nd ranked team in the game and have had 2 x 2nd place in div 1, 1 x 3rd and 1 x 7th, however I am ranked 54th... There are people in the top 10 of the manager ranking that have their team outside the top 40 in ranking and not been in div 1.

I understand other things are taken into consideration when doing these rankings but surely results of the team should have a large impact of how well a manager has done? Surely the three people I have mentioned in the above paragraph should be much higher than they are. It seems things might be weighted towards managers winning races and not taking into account the division or activity, etc.

I always wondered how im 6th, i just came to the assumption that it's because im awesome lol!

Would be interesting to know how the ranking is worked out though. I know almost certainly that i have won a lot of races when i haven't had the best car/drivers and also have won quite a few in the past from not being on pole but through clever race strategy instead, i wonder if things like this boost your ranking as a manager?

I mean in reality any old manager can take over a super team and win races right? Takes a special manager to win races with an underfunded bunch of rejects?

Your team is 9th John, you as a manager are ranked 1st. God knows how though, your record is pretty rubbish really... ;)

Is there a page you can see these rankings on? Or do you have to go looking through everyone's team and player pages to get all this?

I hope it does as Tom thinks and that would explain some things. Otherwise the team and manager rankings would always be the same - unless the manager changes team. Team rankings based solely on results for that team - manager has other things - ie winning from lower down the grid - money spent??? income - to results ratio? i don't know but it would be nice for Frank to clarify.

Winning in a lower ranked car should give you bonuses but these should be for the team as well. Still, getting better results than expected in div 3 shouldn't be better than getting expected results in div 1 in my opinion. I haven't seen a mainly active div 3 so far but div 1 has always had 10-11 active teams and now features most of the strong teams.

Probably something to do with being in div 3 to start with. Most of the teams above you didn't start that low so will have gained more "points" from being in higher divisions. I'm sure you will be in the top 5 or 6 after this season though.

I had to look through all the teams. I started doing it with a spreadsheet showing champ positions etc but it took ages just to do division 1 especially as some people have changed teams (Christian Heidenbauer was a real nightmare :p). I just looked through a few other teams and gathered some info which to me looked strange.

The manager is only as good as the team and the team is only as good as the manager so I can see why they should be similar. I'd imagine a few things are different in the calculations but they should be similar. As I mentioned earlier in my post, the team also achieves any results on track so they should get credit for it as well. We tell them what to do, but they have to do it. One of my thinkings as to why I am ranked so low is maybe it is because I don't take a wage and therefore don't have any money in my account or own any shares. I don't agree with the shares part of the game so I won't be taking part in that whatsoever.

I also thought the manager ranking was related to how much money the team has, I noticed as I got poorer my ranking dropped out of the top ten

If that is true and plays a large role then some people really need to re-evaluate what they think are expensive person contracts.
