You will have teams still basing things off the old superb parts which is a small advantage as we reached that level before the changes; while we should have never reached that level period under then new system.

So I will agree that development should have been wiped clean a few years back but then I think you would have lost a lot of players since we had 2 years of full development wiped and would have set everyone back by these years.

Imagine everyone confused and frustrated like we are with the research level aspect and having zero developmental progress since it was all wiped?!?!

Most of us would have left!!

If everyone is wiped clean on dev, we are all in the same boat so there would be no advantage. People might get pissed, but it would be relative to their rivals so nobody is losing out as such.

I do get your point, but I also find it amusing that you frequently counter any suggestion of levelling or feature change I make with (not an excuse) but a form of diversion.

I can only deduce its because you are sitting at the top of the pile and of all people such changes would likely affect your status and team the most.

I really hope you get to start a new team again sooner because a lot of your points, whilst somewhat valid, are really tainted to suit your own benefits to this game above the players as a whole.

I think those people (like myself) with some Superb parts already, do have an unfair advantage over people who under the current system will never achieve that (even with the same level staff as me).

I expect Frank will implement something at the end of this season to move all development down a notch or two. If I remember from PW1.0, those developing hard and pushing the top levels of parts higher, meant that everybody elses parts got comparatively worse.

It worked fairly well I think, although if you weren't moving forwards you were flying backwards

We have had a season for players to develop new parts based on the new development system. I chose to stop developing most of my old parts in favour of starting to develop new ones. I still have a couple of old evolutions running but I am on track to replace these with "lesser" new parts by season end.

Prior to total deletion, I think that some kind of degradation or wildly varied production quality regarding reliability and performance on the old system parts could be implemented. It would allow players to gamble whether it was worth continuing to develop and produce parts designed under the old system.

I suggested this before, infact it might have its own topic somewhere on the degradation of expiry or old part designs lasting 2 or 3 seasons available as a base before becoming defunct, like the current parts you physically make vanish after 1 season.

I remember talking about this point about degradation before and I will state it again this would be unrealistic is the fact that teams don't redesign a whole front wing from season to season they build on what they have and maybe look to see what other teams have to bases their next season front wing off of!!

That being stated this is a game and with the aspect of having no degradation system, I can build the same part over and over ......

That isn't correct in it's self!!

And Dan I think you are mistaken when it comes to my post being a form of diversion but rather trying to get you to look at the bigger picture when it comes to changes made in the game play or features.

Everything has a reaction + or - and everyone reacts differently.

The Research aspect to this game is a lot more broken than I think majority realize as it intend purpose isn't what it's suppose to be doing!!

Edit* Oh, I am in favor of a reset and I don't think it would effect my team that much based on what I think I know!! It would actually make my team stronger!!

In PW1.0 there was actually a reason to develop, because the car kept getting better. I've reached a point where my car isn't improving and it is quite boring. To me, rating parts on a scale of 1 to 10 is completely unnecessary. Why should there be a maximum value?

Continually reducing the lifetime of old system parts would achieve the aim, I think. If you have superb parts that become less reliable each time you build one means that at some point they will not last race distance.
It would be a reasonable way of easing out the old system parts, I think. You may have an advantage for a few races, but by the end of the season, your cars would be breaking part way through the race.

Doesn't seem at all realistic though Patrick? In reality, parts produced from the same design would improve in reliability as you become more accustomed to producing them....
